Project Black Giant
Antofagasta, Chile
In 2023, ³Ô¹ÏÍøX made a significant leap by acquiring a ~100,000-acre lithium resource in Chile, where we plan to develop one of the world’s first commercial Direct Lithium Extraction (DLE) facilities, along with a refinery near the port. This project, known as Project Black Giant, marks our first lithium acquisition. Here’s a closer look at the exciting details of this groundbreaking venture:
- 100,000+ acres of high-quality lithium mining concessions.
- Total potential ranges from 2.6 to 9.7 million metric tons of lithium
- Surface samples show lithium concentrations topping 400 mg/L
- With our technology, we estimate Project Black Giant will be able to produce 40,000 metric tons of lithium per year.
Resource Location & Size
90,000 Acres in Antofagasta Region
Lithium in Situ (LCE)
3.1Mt to 9.7Mt
Initial Annual Production
40,000 tpa LCE
Production
99.5% Battery Grade LiOH and Li2CO2
Demonstration and Final Processing Plant Locations
³Ô¹ÏÍøX is constructing a market demonstration plant in Antofagasta to process approximately 30 to 50 tons LCE per year. This plant is expected to be ready in Q4 of 2024 and completely finished by Q1 of 2025 in parallel with planned Phase 1 Drilling campaign completion.
The connectivity between the Black Giant tenements (DLE plant) and the final processing plants are located just 265 km away by railway line, plus the additional 40 km to connect the DLE plant and the train station.
The final commercial processing plant is expected to be near the port of Mejilones where ³Ô¹ÏÍøX already owns 2,500 acres of land.
